Recovery operators in Scotland and parts of Northern and Eastern England, including the East Midlands, are advised to be aware that there could be a sudden cold snap this weekend and that there could be severe weather, too.
The Met office has issued the following warnings: Orkney & Shetland, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar:
Blizzards & Heavy Snow Fri 21 Nov There is a moderate risk of a severe weather event affecting parts of northern and northeastern Scotland.
Northerly winds will bring heavy snow showers to parts of north and northeastern Scotland. Snow showers and strong winds may cause blizzard conditions. Accumulations of several cms are likely.
Also weather warnings are released for: UK regions: East of England, Yorkshire & Humber, East Midlands, SW Scotland, Lothian & Borders, Orkney & Shetland, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar, North East England
Blizzards & Heavy Snow Sat 22 Nov There is a moderate risk of a severe weather event affecting parts of northern and eastern Scotland and many eastern coastal areas of England. Heavy snow showers will bring accumulations of several cms in places, especially in the north and over hills, where strong winds will also give blizzard conditions at times.
